A Beautiful, Unexpected Gift

(Following links on this blog may result in my earning a small fee. As an Amazon associate I may earn from qualifying purchases.)

What’s comforting you lately?

The other day I received a lovely surprise in the mail: this beautiful stained glass piece was sent by a friend of mine. I am so touched and have hung it up in my window.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle…

…is a prayer that has gotten me through some tough times over the years. I take a lot of comfort in it, and also in friendships new and old…and I’ll always think of my friend when I see this in my window.  ☺️

She bought it on Etsy if you're interested! I can't confirm the seller/crafter (I didn't see it on the packaging), but if you search on "Archangel stained glass" you'll find it and others from various crafters.

Happy World Book Day! To celebrate, please share a favorite read in the comments. Or if you’re an author or indie bookseller, feel free to share links to your books or shop.

Here's a book I recently enjoyed. Hope you like it, too!

Update on Tina Turtle

(Following links on this blog may result in my earning a small fee. As an Amazon associate I may earn from qualifying purchases.)

Update on Ms. Tina Turtle: I believe she has concluded her business and has made her way back home. I have no idea if there is a nest; if so, it’s well-hidden and I’m not inclined to look too hard. She moved to various locations under the bushes in the bed these past few days. The video attached is what she was doing yesterday morning.

Later yesterday she’d moved yet again to well under a holly bush and sat inside her shell the rest of her stay.

This morning I saw her moving away. I snapped a photo as she was getting underway, then watched for a few, but I had to run to a vestibular therapy appointment so I left her to it. She was a few feet onto the lawn and moving away from the house as I pulled out of the drive.

I let my lawn people know where she had been (red circle) so they can avoid the area (which they said they’d do.)

So this’ll probably be my last post about it unless things change. It was fun hosting Ms. Turtle for a few nights!

We have a super cute box turtle hanging out. I don’t know where he came from. Landscaper came today to put down the mulch; an hour later here’s this little guy! I’ve never seen one here before.

I don't remember if I've shared this piece here. I know I have in stitching groups and on social media, but I  was reminded of it today. This is Chubby Bee by Jeanette Douglass and the finishing in the honeycomb frame was done by Amy and Memory at Barefoot Needleart in Surfside Beach, SC. I made it as a smalls exchange piece for the retreat in February. It’s so cute I might make one for myself!
